Moriah Baptist Bible Church

October was a busy yet enjoying month for Moriah Baptist Bible Church as they held three major activities: The Chorale Festival, Missions Conference and their 28th Church Anniversary.

Entitled "Harmonies of Praise II”, Moriah’s second chorale festival was conducted last October 10, 2008. Ten choral groups from different Baptist churches graced the night by their magnificent performances, having the aspiration of praising God, our faithful creator and savior, through singing!

The groups that performed were as follows:

· Moriah Baptist Bible Church choir (Ptr. Efren Padua).
· Moriah Baptist Bible Church - Tumana choir (Ptr. Jerry Larosa).
· Bible Baptist Church, Peñafrancia, Antipolo choir (Ptr. Nicanor Ciron).
· Emmanuel Baptist Bible Church choir (Ptr. Ricky Cuaterno).
· Montalban Baptist Bible Church choir (Ptr. Robert Ortega).
· Community Baptist Bible Church choir (Ptr. Efraim Panganiban).
· San Mateo Baptist Bible Church choir (Ptr. Reuel Palit-Ang).
· Asian Youth Singing Ambassadors (Sis. Moraya Padua).
· Caloocan Baptist Bible Church choir (Ptr. Jerico Samson).
· Baptist Heritage Singers (Bro. Jay Michael Bolaño).

The event was blessed even more through the preaching of God’s Word through Missionary Pastor Reuel Tica, a former Philippine Madrigal Singer himself.

Following that event, the Missions Conference was held on the 15th up to the 17th. 30 pastors and 22 churches attended the event. With the theme “DARE TO STAND”, 10 pastors blessed the occasion through the preaching of God’s Word, starting from 3pm to almost midnight.

Friday
· Ptr. Jun Mariano preached about “Companion”
· Ptr. Efren Padua preached about “Coronation”
· Ptr. Boyd Lyons preached about “Missions”

Then on October 19, came the 28th Church Anniversary. Crowd once again flooded the building. Pastor Padua delivered the message with the theme “Dare to Stand”. The church was once again honored by the presence of the Marikina City Officials who regularly greets them on their anniversary. Moriah’s daughter and fellowship churches came to enjoy the event as well on the afternoon fellowship time. Singing, fun games, and more importantly, preaching of God’s message brought color to the occasion. Pastor Boyld Lyons, our Pastor’s father in the faith, delivered the message.

The day after the anniversary was the Victory Celebration day. Pastor Benny Abante Jr. preached and justified the theme “Dare to Stand” by expounding the story of Elijah during his confrontation with Ahab and his prophets. It was truly a clear, powerful and edifying message that challenged the members of Moriah Baptist Bible Church. Our diligent yet courteous Congressmen, Cong. Del De Guzman and Cong. Marcy Teodoro, attended the celebration.
